Personalising an order with an inscription

​Each item large or small is hand made in its entirety by McRae in the little Herefordshire workshop, so therefore why not go that little bit further and personalise your purchase? Whether it is just a name, a quote, a date, a celebration or a memory, it is a lovely way to add an extra personal element to your purchase.

​At this moment, because each letter is stamped by hand, spacing and alignment can be a little erratic. We think that this reflects and enhances the unique handmade quality of every McRae product. There a two ways of doing this, by stamping directly onto the item, or by stamping into a copper, brass or aluminium backing plate that is then riveted onto the item.

A. Stamping directly onto the item.​
This tends to work well for smaller pieces. Two examples are shown below.

B. Stamping into a copper, brass or aluminium backing plate that is then riveted onto the item.
This works better for larger pieces or for inscriptions such as “In memory of....” etc. Two examples are show below.

Inscription costs

For the inscription please note that only capital letters, numbers, spaces, "&" are allowed.​

A - Stamp to item (max 20 characters)
1-10 letters = £15.00
11-20 letters = £30.00​

B - Copper, Brass or Aluminium backing plate (max 50 characters)
1-10 letters = £25.00
11-20 letters = £40.00
21-30 letters = £55.00
31-40 letters = £65.00
41-50 letters = £85.00
